Join us and see what the Hulugan life is all about.SUMMARYHulu's Consumer Insights team is seeking a Strategic Insights Manager who will be an outstanding addition to the team. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, this new member will lead primary research initiatives around subscriber engagement and retention to inform Hulu's marketing, product, and corporate strategy. This role will work closely with other Insights Managers and Analysts in crafting research, analyzing and interpreting different types of data, and translating it into a clear and compelling narrative. The right person for this role is someone passionate about driving decision-making through the voice of the consumer and someone who is comfortable leading multiple sophisticated projects at once. The primary areas of responsibility for this role focus on Consumer Experience tracking programs.WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Oversee ongoing tracking initiatives among the Hulu subscriber base, maintaining efficient processes, managing external vendors, and adapting studies and insights as needed to address evolving business while balancing need for trendability.
- Lead a wide variety of qualitative and quantitative research activities including collection and preparation of data as well as extraction and analysis of data from multiple sources to create summaries, tables, and report sections.
- Manage the end-to-end process of planning and executing qualitative and quantitative research studies (i.e. questionnaire development, programming, and testing surveys, analyzing results, and producing final reports), both as in-house DIY studies and with external research partners.
- Develop actionable insights and strategies to address key business objectives, by synthesizing relevant data sources (primary, secondary, or first-party) to tell a clear and holistic story.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand key
business questions and needs and coordinate with internal and
external research partners to translate those into effective
research programs.WHAT TO BRING
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Psychology or related field
- 4+ years of custom research project experience, preferably at a market research supplier or entertainment provider
- Experience with survey platforms such as Qualtrics, Alchemer, etc.
- Experience with non-primary data sources (secondary research, social media data, first-party behavioral data)
- Experience with SPSS, Reporter, Q or Marketsight
- Passion for understanding consumer needs and attitudes and translating them into business strategies, particularly in the technology, media and/or entertainment sectors.
- Experience with managing all phases in successful execution of research projects, including managing timelines, questionnaire design, data collection and analysis, reporting and presentations. Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a given time.
- Knowledge of a variety of market research methodologies and their applications, with specific experience running tracking studies
- Strong data analysis skills, particularly with large quantitative or qualitative datasets
- Analytical thinker who enjoys problem-solving
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to tell a clear and compelling story with data
- Drive to take initiative in projects and ability to work independently with minimal direction
- Collaborative partner and teammate who can build good rapport, communicate effectively, and influence others when needed
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
- Computer literate with proficiencies in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Docs
- Confident, self-motivated, and detail oriented
- Intellectual curiosity and a passion for innovation
- Strong social, collaboration, and communication skills
- Passionate consumer of content - Movies, TV, SVODNICE-TO-HAVES
- MBA or advanced degree in Market Research or Statistics
- Experience working on entertainment or technology consumer research, with an emphasis on SVOD, TV, and/or In-Home content consumption
- Familiarity with R, Python, SAS, STATA or similar programming languages
- Proficiency with SQL, with the ability to extract and combine disparate data sources to develop a rich, complete picture for the business
- Experience working with large datasets and big data technologies, preferably cloud-based, such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar
- Strong business acumenCompensation: The hiring range for this
position in CA is $91,900.00 to $126,200.00 per year. The base pay
actually offered will take into account internal equity and also
may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region,
job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of
the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical,
financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and
